LIQUID DROPLET DISCHARGING DEVICE AND HEAD ABNORMALITY DETECTION/JUDGMENT METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid droplet discharging device which detects a discharging abnormality of liquid droplet discharging heads and can carry out a suitable recovery process according to its cause, and to provide a head abnormality detection/judgment method. SOLUTION: The liquid droplet discharging device has a plurality of the liquid droplet discharging heads with vibrating plates and actuators for displacing the vibrating plates; a driving circuit for driving the actuators; a residual vibration detecting means 16 for detecting residual vibration of the vibrating plates after the actuators are driven by the driving circuit; a pulse generating means for generating reference pulses; an arithmetic operation processing means 17 for operating the number of the reference pulses generated by the pulse generating means on the basis of the residual vibration of the vibrating plates; a time counting means for counting the elapse of time after the actuators are driven by the driving circuit; and a judging means 20 for judging the head abnormality of the liquid droplet discharging heads on the basis of the operation result of the operation processing means 17 and the passed time measured by the timer means.
