PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance print quality and print throughput in a printer having an ink supply system employing a tube by relaxing fluidization of ink in an ejection head when a carriage is driven thereby stabilizing supply of ink being ejected. SOLUTION: As an ink feeder of an ink jet recorder, a branch tube from an ink supply tube is arranged at an arbitrary position in the ink supply tube. An ink holder for holding ink supplied through the branch tube is provided above a second carriage. The second carriage performs reciprocal motion in the reverse direction depending on the reciprocal motion of a first carriage having an ink ejecting section thus suppressing pressure variation at the ink ejecting section.
