METHOD FOR PRODUCING CYCLIC OLEFIN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a cyclic olefin by which lowering of a catalyst activity is suppressed and stable operation can be carried out, to provide a method for designing an apparatus for producing the cyclic olefin and to provide a design program in the apparatus for producing the cyclic olefin. SOLUTION: The method for producing the cyclic olefin is carried out as follows. Heat of reaction generated when a monocyclic aromatic hydrocarbon is subjected to a hydrogenation reaction is transferred through a heat removing coil 2 and a first heat exchanger 3 to a second heat exchanger 4 to afford the heat to the second heat exchanger 4. Thereby, the interior of a hydrogenation reactor 1 is kept at a constant temperature. Operation is controlled within the range so that the ratio of the total amount of an eluted metal eluted from the hydrogenation reactor 1 and a heat exchange system does not exceed 0.5 wt.% based on the total weight of a hydrogenation catalyst added when the monocyclic aromatic hydrocarbon is subjected to the hydrogenation reaction.
