PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of quantifying kaolins in coal, which are in wide use as a coke source and an energy source, with high precision. SOLUTION: The method of quantifying kaolins in coal comprises measuring the<SP>27</SP>AL-solid nuclear magnetic resonance spectrum of the coal, based on the measurement, calculating the ratio of the integrated value of a six-ligand type Al peak corresponding to kaolins to the integrated values of all the AL peaks, and based on the calculated value, determining a kaolins content in the coal.
