PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a sintered ore containing little SiO<SB>2</SB>, which has improved reduction powdering property and reducibility even when a lot of high hydrate-water ore is blended therein. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the low-SiO<SB>2</SB>sintered ore containing 3.8 to 4.5% SiO<SB>2</SB>comprises blending 30% or more high hydrate-water ore having a hydrate water content of 4% or higher with respect to a total blended quantity of iron ore; and adjusting the content of FeO in the sintered ore to 8 to 12% and the MgO content to 1.5 to 4.0%, by using dolomite having such a particle size distribution that particles smaller than -1 mm occupy 8 to 70 mass%. The method preferably adjusts the basicity (CaO/SiO<SB>2</SB>) to 1.9 or higher, or forms air pits in a raw material layer to be sintered. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
