PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for editing images, which can rapidly edit the image including a desired feature and to provide a recording medium and a program. SOLUTION: A thumbnail display program 176 relates to the image content data for displaying the image including a sound, and displays the thumbnail of the image at the time when an essence mark is attached based on clip metadata set to the essence mark displaying the image including the voice. This essence mark setting program 161 sets the essence mark for showing the feature of the image at a desired time of the image.
