PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a first spring 19 from being broken by lowering influence of a spill wave against the first spring 19. SOLUTION: A main port 7 and a sub-port 8 are formed on an upper cylindrical part 3a of a plunger barrel 3, and a spill chamber 11 is formed around the upper cylindrical part 3a. The spill chamber 11 is separated from a fuel chamber 9 in an upper side by an expansion wall 12 projected on an inner wall of a pump housing 2 to form a substantially independent annular space communicated to the main port 7 and the sub-port 8. The first spring 19 energizing a movable sleeve 6 is arranged in an opposite side of the spill chamber with respect to the expansion wall 12. Accordingly as high energy of the spill wave generated when a plunger 4 closes the main port 7 and the sub-port 8 hardly reaches the first spring 19, the generation of erosion and breakage in the first spring 19 due to the spill wave is prevented.
