PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for decomposing seawater. SOLUTION: The seawater decomposition system is provided with a plurality of seawater tanks T<SB>1</SB>-T<SB>3</SB>which are arranged stepwise and are communicated to each other so as to move seawater from high position to low position and store seawater therein, a pair of electrode plates 20 located inside each of the seawater tanks and a vapor pipe 24 which is arranged so as to pass through almost the center of each of the seawater tanks and is subjected to insulation treatment, wherein the seawater in the seawater tanks are electrolyzed by energizing the electrode plates, thereby, the seawater is separated into a part containing minus ions which has a high specific gravity and a high salt concentration and a part containing plus ions which has a low specific gravity and a low salt concentration, further, the sea water around the vapor pipe is heated by causing high temperature vapor to pass through the vapor pipe and, thereby, the separation of seawater is furthermore promoted.
