PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce vibration and noise in an electric power steering device with its speed reduced through belt transmission. SOLUTION: A belt 30 with a tooth is wound between an input pulley 28 with a tooth and an output pulley 29 with a tooth and power of an electric motor 15 is transmitted through the belt 30 and at a reduced speed. The input pulley 28 is provided on an input shaft 27 integrally rotated with an output shaft 16 of the electric motor 15. The output pulley 29 is integrally rotated with a ball nut 44 surrounding a steering shaft 6. The belt 30 has a spiral tooth 30t, for example, inclined at an inclination angle of 10°or less against a belt width direction. The input and output pulleys 28, 29 also have similar spiral teeth. Variation of engagement of the belt 30 with the respective pulleys 28, 29 becomes smooth and the vibration and the noise are reduced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
