<p>A dual clutch transmission (14) includes a first clutch (18), input shaft (22) and gear set (26) and a second clutch (20), input shaft (24) and gear set (28). The dual clutch transmission (14) is switchable between a mode in which, during a shift between gears both clutches (18) and (20) engage during the shift and a mode where only one clutch (18) or (20) engages at any time. As a result a limp-home mode and improved AMT shift regime are obtained.</p> |
