<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Kana-kanji conversion system which makes it unnecessary to have a predictive conversion dictionary especially, and can save a dictionary storage area. <P>SOLUTION: Reading printed in Kana beside Kanji constituted in a character input section 11 is carried out Kana-kanji conversion processor using information in a kana-kanji conversion dictionary 14 and a user learning dictionary 15 by a kana-kanji conversion processor 12, and candidates are displayed in a display unit 13. The user learning dictionary 15 is a dictionary to store contents learned from users input and conversion using the Kana-Kanji conversion dictionary 14 in the Kana-kanji conversion system and to which the user writes a word which is carried out word registration. In this embodiment, information on use frequency of character strings contained in the Kana-Kanj conversion dictionary 14 is also recorded.
