PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep an output image directed in a predetermined direction and further keep the output order of divided copies of a two-page spread manuscript as they are even when the manuscript is set in its direction to be directed upward, downward, left, and right.
SOLUTION: Either of set states B, C, D, and E (directed to upward, downward, left, and right) of the manuscript A is instructed by a key operation, and in response to an instruction valid read areas of a scanner corresponding to the two divided images are altered/set in the order of a first face A1 and a second face A2. In the case of the set states B, D, the manuscript is divided in a sub-scanning direction by reading the manuscript in the order of b1, b2/c1, c2 area, and in the case of D, E the manuscript is divided in a main scanning direction by reading the manuscript in the order of d1, d2/e1, e2 area. In order to alter all outputs in the direction of the manuscript A the outputs are subjected to image rotation by 180° in the case of C, and ±90° in the case of D, E. It is possible to obtain copy outputs directed in a predetermined direction without reversing a page order or making it impossible to divide the manuscript along an intermediate line of the two-page spread manuscript.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
