PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a reducing ratio does not increase caused by outer gas by appropriately controlling gas flow of the outer gas (oxidizing gas) invaded from a raw material supplying means and discharging means. SOLUTION: The method for producing the reduced iron comprises: a raw material supplying process for charging the raw material containing carbonaceous reducing agent and iron oxide-containing material into a rotary hearth furnace; a heating and reducing process for heating these raw materials and reducing the iron oxide in this raw material to the reduced iron; a melting process for melting this reduced iron; a cooling process for cooling the melted reduced iron; and a discharging process for discharging the cooled reduced iron to out of the furnace which are performed successively in a furnace hearth rotating direction. In this method, a flow rate adjusting partition wall for controlling the furnace gas flow, is arranged in the furnace and the furnace gas flow at the cooling process is formed in the furnace hearth rotating direction.
