PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety device of a loom for detecting operations, caused by setting miss, of a supporting device not participating to aperture formation of a warp, wherein the safety device has a simple structures and surely detects only the operations caused by the setting miss. SOLUTION: The loom has a contact type sensor and an abnormality detecting means, wherein the loom performs, by driving an aperture device according to a predetermined aperture pattern, aperture motion for forming an aperture of the warp in each heald frame through a driving-transmitting device connected to the aperture device and the supporting means connected to the driving-transmitting device, and the contact type sensor is set between the supporting device and an element supporting the supporting device and the abnormality detecting means outputs an abnormality signal when detecting, through the sensor, a load larger than a predetermined value.
