PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical connector capable of being assembled at high speed and having excellent adhesive durability and high reliability, and to provide its assembling method. SOLUTION: An optical fiber ribbon 1, in which a hardener is applied on a coating film-removed end part, is inserted into a fiber hole 9 of a ferrule 4 by passing through a boot part 5, and is arranged in a hollow part 7b so that a top end part 1a projects from an end face 4a. Aα-cyanoacrylate based adhesive, which contains 1 to 30 wt.pts of a reactant of one molecule of straight chain polymer which has -OH group in both terminals and a polymerizable carbon-carbon unsaturated bond with two molecules of compound which have an isocyanate group in a molecule per 100 wt.pts of anα-cyanoacrylate and contains 5 to 40 wt.pts of insoluble organic polymer particles inα-cyanoacrylate, is charged into the hollow part 7b from a ferrule window 7a and cured at high speed. thereby bonding and fixing the optical fiber ribbon 1 to the ferrule 4.
