<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a constitution improvable in generation efficiency, in a generating device that performs generation by striking a piezoelectric element by an external force. <P>SOLUTION: In the generating device 1, when a shaft body 4 is pressed down by the external force in the downward direction shown by an arrow D, the displacement of the shaft 4 is stored in a coil spring 6 as elastic energy. When pressure to the shaft body 4 is released, the shaft body 4 returns to an original upper position by the push-up force of the coil spring 6, but since the engagement of a rack 42 and a pinion 35 is released during the return of the shaft body, a rotating body 3 is continued to rotate by an inertia force.
