OPTICAL HEAD DEVICE AND OPTICAL RECORDING MEDIUM DRIVING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the deviation of an optical axis O caused by the variation of the ambient temperature and the resultant deviation of the detected light spot on an optical detector, in an optical head device used for various disk drives.

SOLUTION: The optical head device is provided with: a semiconductor laser; a collimator lens 2 making the light emitted from a semiconductor laser a parallel luminous flux; a lens frame 21 for holding the collimator lens 2; a beam forming prism for forming the parallel luminous flux of an oval cross section passing through the collimator lens 2 into a luminous flux of a circular cross section; an objective for converging the parallel luminous flux which has passed through the beam forming prism on the optical disk where tracks are formed; and an optical detector for detecting the reflection light by the optical disk or transmission light. The collimator lens 2 is stuck to a lens frame 21 at two places opposing mutually in a radial direction 31 which constitutes the short axis direction of the cross section of the parallel luminous flux made incident on the beam forming prism.
