PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a variation in torque by a feedback control using a target gear ratio for gear shift from being applied to an output shaft by always bringing the target gear ratio to a target one during gear shifting. SOLUTION: In an operating state, a target output torque waveform in inertia phases t2 to t4 are set as the combination of a target gear shift timeΔt (shift) with a gear shift target output torque T<SB>0</SB>(shift). A gear shift target engine torque Tet for realizing the target output torque waveform is calculated using the target fastening capacity Tdt of a friction element obtained from T<SB>0</SB>(shift) andΔt (shift). A target transmission input speed Nit is successively calculated using Tet and Tdt and rotating inertia on the engine side of the friction element. Using Nit and the transmission output speed No, the target gear ratio Grt is calculated. In the gear shift control, the tightening capacity Td of the friction element is controlled so that Tdt can be achieved during inertia phase, and the engine torque Te is feedback-controlled during inertia phase so that a corrected target power source torque obtained by correcting Tet to eliminate a gear ratio deviation▵Gr between an effective gear ratio Gr and a gear shift target gear ratio Grt can be achieved.
