PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a redox flow battery capable of reducing the loss by a shunt current even in a use for load averaging, as well as an instantaneous power failure or emergency application, and further increasing energy efficiency. SOLUTION: This redox flow battery has a cell structure of overlapping a cell frame 1 with an electrode. The cell frame 1 comprises a liquid supplying manifold 2 and a liquid discharging manifold 3 arranged above the electrode upper surface, and a liquid supplying slit 4 extending from the manifold 2 to the electrode and a discharging slit 4 extending from the electrode to the manifold 3. The ratio H/L of the vertical length H to the horizontal length L of the electrode is≥0.1 and≤0.5, and the ratio S<SB>1</SB>/S<SB>2</SB>of the sectional area S<SB>1</SB>of the slit 4 to the sectional area S<SB>2</SB>of the slit 5 is≥2 and≤3.
