PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display control device and a display control method in which visibility and operability are improved at the time of displaying an inputted picture signal on a display device of low resolution. SOLUTION: The display control device is provided with a picture signal generation part for generating a picture signal for enlarged display for displaying a partial area out of picture data constituted of a picture signal outputted from a personal computer as a display area of the display device, a pointing information acquisition part for acquiring the pointing position information of a pointing device on the picture data constituted of the picture signal outputted from the personal computer and a display area changing part for changing the display area of the display device on the basis of relation between the pointing position information acquired by the pointing information acquisition part and the display area of the display device.
