PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cluster of granules for surfactant support enhanced in the support capability and its manufacturing method; to provide a cluster of detergent particles formed by having a surfactant supported on the cluster of granules for surfactant support; and to provide a detergent composition containing it. SOLUTION: The cluster of granules for surfactant support, obtained by drying a slurry and containing≤10 wt.% of a surfactant, contains 5-65 wt.% of a water-insoluble substance having zeolitic water in terms of a conversion to its anhydride, the amount of the zeolitic water being less than the zeolitic water saturation amount. The cluster of detergent particles is formed by supporting the surfactant of 10-100 pts.wt. on the cluster of granules for surfactant support of 100 pts.wt. The manufacturing process of the cluster of granules for surfactant support has a step (a) of preparing the slurry containing the water-insoluble substance having zeolitic water and a step (b) of drying the slurry under the conditions, in which part or the whole of the zeolitic water contained in the water-insoluble substance having zeolitic water is volatilized, to prepare the cluster of granules for surfactant support whose zeolitic water is less than its saturation amount.
