PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a label affixing device capable of enhancing the label affixing accuracy, freely selecting the orientation of installation, and rapidly affixing a label. SOLUTION: The label affixing device 6 comprises a label tape transfer roller 14 with a label tape 3 brought into contact therewith, a label tape transfer roller rotation mechanism which rotates the label tape transfer roller 14 around the axis to intermittently transfer the label tape 3, a peeling member 29 which returns the label tape 3 to peel the label, a separator transfer roller 32 set in contact with the separator 4, and a separator transfer roller rotation mechanism which rotates the separator transfer roller 32 around the axis to intermittently transfer the separator 4 by a distance less than that for the label tape 3. The label affixing device 6 has a nip roller 16 to press the label tape 3 in the direction of the label tape transfer roller 14, and the nip roller 16 has a nip roller moving means 17 to move the nip roller 16 from a pressed state to a non-pressed state every time when the label tape 3 is transferred.
