PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carbon nanotube composite wire in which the lumps of carbon nanotubes are not left, the carbon nanotubes are uniformly dispersed and the orientation is controlled, and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: Bundle-shaped carbon nanotubes are obtained by synthesizing the carbon nanotubes by a hydrocarbon catalytic decomposition method taking hydrocarbon as a raw material in a reaction tube 1 and collecting them in a copper pipe 9 installed on the bottom of the reaction tube. After that, the composite wire is manufactured by drawing the bundle-shaped carbon nanotubes together with the copper pipe 9. Hexane or benzene is used as the hydrocarbon.
