PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for classifying particulates capable of precisely classifying with a complete continuous system even for particulates which diameter are less than few micrometers. SOLUTION: In a separation passage of a centrifugal rotor, a method for classifying particulates is to use a centrifuging system separating particulates samples which are to be separated by a sedimentation velocity method in a liquid phase, to form a continuous density gradient where a solution density of the liquid phase serially changes in a radius vector direction of the centrifugal rotor, and to supply raw materials and to recover the particulates classified with a complete continuous system.
