PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small, light and inexpensive endoscope apparatus with a higher operability. SOLUTION: In the operation of a braking lever 29, the first press fit member 22 is selectively moved axially by the first braking control member 27 toward the surface 68 susceptible to the friction of an up/down bending control knob 13. An energizing protrusion 42 for energizing the first press fit member 22 in the direction of separating from the surface 68 susceptible to the friction is integrated with the first press fit member 22.
