A TRANSPORTABLE BUILDING AND CHASSIS THEREFOR

A transportable building (10) having a longitudinal chassis (38) that includes two parallel I-beams (40, 42), each I-beam including a top and bottom flange connected by a web. Pluralities of elongate beams (44) extend laterally across the top of both I-beams and are adapted to support a floor (32) of said transportable building. A front member and a rear member are connected normal to and across the respective front and rear ends of said I-beams. A frame (46) is connected to and extends around the plurality of elongate beams the frame adapted to support sidewalls of the building. Extending through the web of said I-beams are two spaced apart parallel longitudinal channels (60, 62) that are adapted to be engageable by forks of a forklift (26) for lifting said transportable building whether for attachment of wheeled axels or to and from the bed of a truck (24).
