<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle repair support system that enables a user on a vehicle which has been broken down during drive to request the nearest repair factory that can repair it to repair it, without requiring a cumbersome procedure for making contact with the factory. <P>SOLUTION: A centralized control unit, when detecting a trouble with the vehicle, sends to a management device a part number showing the kind of a failed part and vehicle position information showing a vehicle's current position. The management device has factory position information showing locations of repair factories, and searches for the repair factory near the vehicle in trouble according to the vehicle position information received and the factory position information, and requests the factory to repair the vehicle. The repair factory is asked if it stocks parts shown by the part number received. When it does not have the parts, an order is placed with a part manufacturer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
