<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light guide plate, which is thinner, has aesthetic exterior, and can control emitting light freely. <P>SOLUTION: The light guide plate 10 for guiding incident light and emitting the guided light through a light emitting surface 26 of flat shape, comprises diffraction grating having a straight edge line. A plurality of diffraction grating areas 30(#1-#n) having the same grating vector direction v, the same length w along the grating vector direction, and an average guiding direction F which is average direction for guiding light, and is the same as the grating vector direction v, are arranged on the light emitting surface 26 or an opposite side surface 28 opposing to the light emitting surface 26. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
