PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crystallized epoxy resin easily compounded with a curing agent and the like. SOLUTION: The method for producing the crystallized epoxy resin, in which the ratio of the quantity of heat absorbed over a temperature range of 50-130°C to that of heat absorbed over a temperature range of 80-125°C is at least 1.03 when measured with a DSC at a rate of temperature increase of 10°C per min, comprises cooling, from molten state of≥105°C, the epoxy resin derived from 4,4'-dihydroxy-3,3',5,5'-tetramethylbiphenyl and an epihalohydrin to almost perfectly crystalize within 2 h since the temperature has been decreased below 105°C.
