PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a liquid supply needle for a liquid jet head unit, capable of filling a needle with a porous body throughout the inside of the needle. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the ink supply needle 19 which is used in a recording head unit equipped with a recording head capable of discharging ink and supplys the ink stored in an ink cartridge to the recording head in the state inserted in an ink cartridge, is characterised by being subjected to an injection process using a hollow needlelike frame 33 having an ink flow channel therein as a mold to inject a foamable raw material liquid 34' in the ink flow channel of the frame 33 and a foaming process for heating the frame 33 after the injection of the raw material liquid 34' to foam the raw material liquid 34' to fill the frame 33 with an ink absorber 34, in this order.
