PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preparing a polyimide film which is good in adhesion to an adhesive while retaining excellent characteristics of a polyimide film made from a 3,3',4,4'-biphenyltetracarboxylic acid component and p-phenylenediamine as the main components. SOLUTION: A solution prepared by dissolving, in a polar organic solvent, a polyimide precursor (A) made from 3,3',4,4'-biphenyltetracarboxylic acid component and p-phenylenediamine as the main components and if necessary adding an imidization catalyst thereto is cast on a support and dried to give a self-supporting film. At least one surface of the self-supporting film is coated with a solution prepared by dissolving, in a polar organic solvent, a polyimide precursor (B) made from 2,3,3',4-biphenyltetracarboxylic acid component and p-phenylenediamine so as to form a coating layer with a thickness after thermal drying and imidization of 0.01-0.5μm. The self-supporting film coated with the polyimide precursor (B) is thermally treated to give the objective polyimide film improved in adhesiveness. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
