PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery capable of obtaining correct information at a low cost in a production process. SOLUTION: The nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery 6 contains lithium manganate as a main constituting material of a positive active material and has a battery can 2, and the whole outer peripheral surface excluding positive and negative terminals 4 is covered with an insulating tube 5 having an electrical insulating properties. As the insulating tube 5, visible light transmitting translucent heat-shrinkable vinyl chloride resin is used and the surface is smoothed. A bar code label 3 is stuck on a portion where is the inside of the insulating tube 5 but the peripheral surface of the battery can 2. The bar code label 3 is constituted by a combination of colors in which a reflectance of visible light semiconductor laser through the insulating tube 5 is high on a bar 8 side and low on a substrate 7 side.
