PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a GPS receiver for economically reducing the time up to the capture of a satellite by frequency searching after its starts. SOLUTION: After the start, a first CPU 8 acquires start temperature (received temperature) from a temperature sensor 9 for detecting the internal temperature of a unit 11 by communication with an external I/F 7 and with a second CPU 10, and reads the search center frequency corresponding to the received temperature from a memory 6 stored with data on relation between the received temperature and the center frequency. This center frequency is set at a downconverting part 4 and at a signal processing part 5 to acquire the radiowave of a GPS satellite by performing frequency search centering on the frequency.
