PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a test piece mounting method for enhancing workability or safety in the mounting or detaching work of a test piece such as a rubber test piece or the like and improved in test precision, a test piece insertion device and a testing machine. SOLUTION: This test piece mounting method is equipped with a process wherein the test piece 13 is inserted in each of the gaps of a coil wire provided by stretching a tensile coil spring 3 and subsequently grasped by the tensile coil spring 3 by releasing the stretching of the spring and a through rod 15, provided with a region which can be attached to the testing machine, is inserted through the tensile coil spring 3 which holds the test piece 13 to be mounted on the testing machine through the attachable region of the through rod 15. Since the test piece 13 can be inserted, grasped and detached easily by stretching and contracting the coil wire of the tensile coil spring by an air cylinder, the workability or safety in test piece mounting and detaching work is enhanced and test precision can be improved.
