PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steam extinguisher for a steam trap capable of securely extinguishing misty vapor found during re-vaporization of condensate. SOLUTION: A radiating pipe 3 is connected with an outlet 2 of a steam trap 1. A partition member 8 in which a drain port 7 is opened in an under part alone is provided with an outlet 10 of the radiating pipe 3. A resistance member 9 formed with metallic fiber fine lines toward the partition member 8 of the radiating pipe 3. Only the cooled condensate which flows into the under part of the radiating pipe 3 escapes from the drain port 7, and the misty vapor by the re-vaporization which pools in the upper part of the radiating pipe 3 does not escape from the drain port 7. The condensate which flows into the drain port 7 is reduced by the resistance member 9 formed with the metallic fiber fine lines, thus the misty vapor with the re-vaporization is involved with the condensate flow and which does not escape from the drain port 7.
