<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a porous synthetic membrane suitable for separating a macromolecular fluid (for example, for filtering protein). <P>SOLUTION: An ultraporous membrane is equipped with a charge porous layer comprising a crosslinked polymer and the crosslinked polymer is formed from a cellulosic polymer and a crosslinking reagent. The cellulosic polymer has the substantial content of a crosslinkable hydroxyl part. The crosslinking reagent is a difunctional or multifunctional epoxide capable of reacting with the hydroxyl part of the polymer to bond the same and represented by formula : X(CH<SB>2</SB>)<SB>n</SB>Y (wherein n is an integer of 1-5, X is H<SB>2</SB>COCH or H<SB>2</SB>COCHCH<SB>2</SB>O and Y is halogen, H<SB>2</SB>COCH or H<SB>2</SB>COCHCH<SB>2</SB>O). The porous synthetic membrane has good durability and good protein bonding characteristics. A charge part is bonded to the surface of the porous layer comprising the crosslinked polymer to impart surface charge to the porous layer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
