PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brake system of an automobile controlling flow of pressure fluid from a tandem type master cylinder in a plurality of wheel brakes through a pair of brake circuits. SOLUTION: A pressure pipe passage in each circuit has a usually closed valve, a low pressure accumulator, a pump, a check valve, an interference chamber, and a throttle orifice which are arranged in series. A bypass pipe passage has a usually closed bypass valve, which is operated to connect pressure relief pipe passages of the first and second brake circuits on the downstream side of a pump outlet. Consequently, one or a plurality of wheel brakes are operated to reduce response time of the system when increasing traction property or stability of a vehicle. Redundancy of the brake system is increased by the check valve connecting circuits on one side or both sides on the downstream side of a bypass connection part or a second usually closed bypass valve in the bypass pipe passage. It is useful to monitor fluid pressure in circuits on one side or both sides to specify leakage of the bypass valve. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
