PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely suppress a difference between machine types by efficiently applying picture quality correction processing to image data acquired by a digital camera. SOLUTION: In accordance with the levels of a color characteristic, a gradation characteristic, a sharpness characteristic and a noise characteristic that are machine type characteristics of digital cameras, machine types of the digital cameras are classified into a plurality of groups corresponding to a predetermined level range for each of the machine type characteristics, and image processing conditions on which correction corresponding to the level range of a group is applied, are set for each of the groups. When applying image processing to image data acquired by a digital camera, the group to which the digital camera belongs in the machine type characteristics is judged and correction processing is performed while using the correction conditions which are set to the group.
