PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carving method which can execute solid step engraving without requiring special skills. SOLUTION: The step engraving carving is executed to glass through the following processes, that is, a transfer film forming process, in which designs or the like are processed to an outline diagram forming a plurality of sections by a computer and a transfer film printed with the outline diagram is formed, a masking film forming process, in which the transfer film is superposed on a UV-curable masking film and it is irradiated with ultraviolet rays, and a sandblast process in which a cured part of the masking film is pasted on the surface of a material to be worked such as glass and the sandblast is executed while successively peeling the section to be carved. It is not necessary to cut the mask sheet with hands compared with the conventional step engraving carving method and also not necessary to have skills, experiences, and the intuition like a craftsman in each process of the designing of the mask sheet, the cutting, and the blast in the method.
