PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out correct and immediate temperature control, and moreover to improve a printing precision by controlling a pulse rate with the use of a correctly measurable printing dot number without depending on temperature measurement of a head which takes time for measurement and is inferior in the measurement precision. SOLUTION: A printing pulse width is controlled according to P.W(C)=W0-[C/C0]ΔW(C) wherein P.W is a driving width of an energy rectangular wave, C is a printing operation cumulative value, [x] is a Gaussian function, W0 is a maximum width of the energy rectangular wave,ΔW(C) is a value depending on the printing operation cumulative value, and C0 is a constant.
