PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve an electric washing machine capable of efficiently drying laundry. SOLUTION: An outer cover air intake window 910 is provided approximately at the center of an outer cover 9 for opening and shutting an outer clothing feeding mouth 102a. A heater unit 1120 for heating suction air is provided in the outer cover air intake window 910. A control unit 106 controls power supply to the heater unit 1120 and a driving unit 7 so that ventilation drying in which a washing and dehydrating tub 6 and an agitating blade 8 are integrally rotated in high speed and cloth replacing in which the washing and dehydrating tub stops rotating, and in this state the agitating blade is rotated are performed repeatedly.
