PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a favorable structure for placing a rice vessel grip by controlling a rise in the temperature of the rice vessel grip. SOLUTION: In the electric rice cooker, an auxiliary heating means for heating a heat slinger 26 mounted on the undersurface of a lid body 2 of the body 1 of the rice cooker is constituted of a subIH coil 29 disposed below a shoulder member 7 while a recessed part 38 recessed downward for housing the grip 37 of the rice vessel 3 to be got into or out of the body 1 of the rice cooker is formed in the shoulder member 7 being sandwiched between the radiation plate 26 and the shoulder member 7. The site corresponding to the recessed part 38 in the subIHcoil 29 is bent downward to enable the housing of the grip 37 of the rice vessel 3 into the recessed part 38 formed in the shoulder member 7 of the body 1 of the rice cooker while allowing the separation of the rice vessel grip 37 from the subIH coil 29 as intact at a distance.
