The invention relates to a composition for the oxidation dyeing of keratin fibers, and in particular human keratin fibers such as the hair, comprising, in a medium which is suitable for dyeing, at least one substituted para-aminophenol as oxidation base, and/or 1,3-bis(beta-hydroxyethyl)amino-2-methylbenzene and/or at least one of the addition salts thereof with an acid, as coupler, as well as to the dyeing process using this composition.
