The method of pre-heating a diesel engine (M) with simultaneous pre-heating of an oxidation catalyzer (K) and cleaning of a particle filter (F) involves operating a number of relays (d3,d4,..), a timing relay (dt) and a push button switch to supply a signal lamp (S4), which signals the interruption of cleaning of the particle filter, until the time set on a timing relay has elapsed and the particle filter has been cleaned by a hot air blower.
