<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically adjust an impact position deviation of ink droplets at the time of two-way discharging, and also to enable the adjustment according to a distance from a nozzle opening to an impact object. <P>SOLUTION: An image detecting sensor 27 capable of optically reading a test pattern formed on a recording paper surface by impacts of the ink droplets is set at a recording head. A control part 28 acquires gap information which indicates a platen gap from the nozzle opening to the recording paper surface, on the basis of a detection signal from a gap detecting sensor 43. The control part acquires position correction information for every platen gap based on read information from the image detecting sensor, and at the same time stores the acquired position correction information into a correction information storage element 56. Moreover, the control part acquires the position correction information based on the gap information and adjusts a discharging timing of ink droplets according to the acquired position correction information. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
