摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink composition that has excellent nozzle clogging recovery, injection stability, high printing density (OD value) and good resistance of the recorded images to friction. <P>SOLUTION: This invention is an ink composition that comprises water, pigments, fine resin particles and a defoaming agent that is represented by general formula (1) (wherein R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>2</SP>are each C<SB>2</SB>H<SB>4</SB>O or C<SB>3</SB>H<SB>6</SB>O, R<SP>1</SP>=R<SP>2</SP>or R<SP>1</SP>&ne;R<SP>2</SP>; m and n satisfy m+n=0-30). In addition, the pigments are self-dispersible and disperse and/or dissolve in water without dispersant.
