<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify control constitution and also to prevent an image defect from occurring. <P>SOLUTION: A CPU 100 sets ports SEL3, SEL2 and SEL1 to an H level successively, so that selective control lines SEL3, SEL2 and SEL1 are made active successively so as to fetch cassette information. Namely, the CPU 100 selects a paper supply cassette set as an information fetching object in such order that a sheet carrying distance L from a paper supply exit to a secondary transfer area TR2 is long and fetches the cassette information. The CPU 100 periodically fetches the information and updates and stores the fetched information in a memory 101. When a printing command signal is given from the outside, the CPU 100 reads the stored information in the memory 101 and inhibits image forming operation when any one of the paper supply cassettes 11 to 13 is not attached. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
