<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a customer management system capable of quickly dealing with troubles caused in sold merchandise. <P>SOLUTION: When a customer registers as a member, he/she is registered in a customer database 141. When the member purchases merchandise, identification information for the merchandise is registered in the customer database 141 in relation to the member. In the case that some trouble occurs in the already sold merchandise, the member who purchased the merchandise is specified by retrieving the customer database 141 with the identification information of the merchandise as a search key. Thus, the selling destination of the merchandise with the trouble is promptly traced and quick coping is made possible.
