<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for measurement, by which the amount of floatation of a rotor from a stator and the axial play of the rotor can be measured with accuracy and with high reproducibility. <P>SOLUTION: A motor is driven at a predetermined rotational speed for measurement, and the relative position is measured between the rotor and the stator in the axial direction. Subsequently, when the motor is at a stop, the rotor is moved to a first abutting position relative to the stator, and the relative position is measured between the rotor and the stator in the axial direction. Further, the rotor is moved to a second abutting position, located opposite the first abutting position relative to the stator, and the relative position is measured between the rotor and the stator in the axial direction. Based on the thus measured relative positions in the axial direction, at least either the amount of floatation of the rotor from the stator or the axial play of the rotor is determined. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
