PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve accuracy in measuring parts having a complicated shape such as the shape of a ball groove of an inner lace or outer lace of a constant velocity joint. SOLUTION: A contact ball 22 of a probe 18 is brought into contact with the ball groove 14 of the inner lace 10 of the constant velocity joint. By relatively moving the inner lace 10 and the probe 18 to make the contact ball 22 follow a contact line 6, the bottom of the groove, shape data on the ball groove is acquired. A plurality of measurement specification positions P for accuracy management are determined with reference to a temporary center O of the ball. Measurement data on a plurality of points in the periphery of each measurement specification position P is acquired on the basis of the shape data to compute the shape of the ball groove on the basis of the measurement data, and the center of the ball is computed on the basis of the shape. With reference to the center of the ball, measurement specification positions for accuracy management are determined again. On the basis of the acquired shape data, data on the specification positions determined again is acquired.
